A chain that is too loose hits the swingarm, skips on the sprockets when you open the throttle sharply, and in an extreme case comes off the sprocket and locks the rear wheel. A chain that is too tight, on the other hand, overloads the bearings and quickly wears out the sprockets. That is why, when you find excessive slack, you adjust it at once, without waiting for a service (answer A) or for a mileage of 10 000 km (answer C). You make the adjustment with the tensioners at the ends of the swingarm, making sure the wheel is aligned evenly on both sides, and at the same time you clean and lubricate the chain.
