Free driving licence tests online: all 12 categories

3 506 official questions across 12 categories (one question can belong to several categories), last updated in July 2026 (checked against gov.pl on 01.11.2026). Choose a category and take a mock exam without creating an account.

Tests in other languages

The state exam can also be taken in Ukrainian, English and German, on the official translations of the same questions.

Four mock exam modes

Every category has the same modes. The full exam mirrors the test centre; the other three are for practising one part or learning without the clock.

01

Full exam

20 basic and 12 specialist questions, 25 minutes, a separate clock on every question, 74 points and a pass mark of 68. This is what the state exam looks like.

When: before the exam, to check you are ready and get used to the clock.

02

Basic only

20 YES / NO questions with videos and photos, 20 seconds to read and 15 to answer, 46 points available.

When: if the videos throw you or you run out of time in the first part.

03

Specialist only

12 A / B / C questions from one category, 50 seconds per question, 28 points. This is where the rules, first aid, driving technique and vehicle construction live.

When: switching category, because this part differs most between them.

04

Training without a clock

32 questions with no time limit, the correct answer and an explanation after each one. The score is counted the same way but does not go into pass statistics.

When: at the start, when you want to understand rather than just pass.

What the categories share and where they differ

Do not learn the same thing twice. The numbers below come from the current base and show which categories share questions.

The basic (YES / NO) questions are mostly shared: 1 098 of them appear in every category from AM to D and T. If you are taking a second category, you already know most of this part.

The specialist (A / B / C) questions belong to a specific category, but related categories share almost the whole set:

  • ·A and A1: 154 shared specialist questions (A has 169, A1 has 157)
  • ·A and A2: 154 shared specialist questions (A has 169, A2 has 157)
  • ·C and C1: 157 shared specialist questions (C has 184, C1 has 157)
  • ·D and D1: 195 shared specialist questions (D has 205, D1 has 196)
  • ·B and B1: 139 shared specialist questions (B has 383, B1 has 153)

The tram permit is a separate story: 435 questions, of which only 12 overlap with category B.

Questions about the mock exam

Is the mock exam result saved anywhere?

Without an account you see the result and the answer review right after the exam, but there is no history. With an account every exam goes into your history, and with full access into statistics per category and topic and the estimated chance of passing.

What happens after I use up 2 exams a day?

The limit resets the next day. With a free account you can take up to 4 exams a day (exams taken that day without an account count too), still from the fixed pool of 128 questions. Unlimited exams and the whole base of 3 506 questions come with full access.

Can I practise only the specialist part?

Yes. The "specialist only" mode draws 12 A / B / C questions from the chosen category, 50 seconds each and 28 points available. Likewise the "basic only" mode gives 20 YES / NO questions.

Are the questions in categories A1, A2 and A the same?

Almost. The basic part is shared, and the specialist questions overlap in about 154 out of 169. If you take A2 after A1, only a dozen or so questions need extra study.

How is the mock exam different from browsing questions with answers?

Browsing questions is learning: you see the question, the correct answer and the explanation, with no clock. The mock exam draws 32 questions like the test centre, counts time and points, and you check your answers only at the end. Training without a clock sits in between.
