Does this sign inform you of the minimum speed at which you are allowed to travel?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
NO
Explanation
In the video you are driving along a street in a city centre, you pass a bus and on the right you see a white square sign with a red circle and the number 30 - this is sign B-43 "speed limit zone" - and below it sign B-36 with plate T-24 about towing away. Sign B-43 does not inform you of the minimum speed, but of the maximum speed allowed in the whole zone. The answer is: no.
The Regulation on road signs and signals states that sign B-43 "speed limit zone" marks the entry to a zone in which you must not exceed the speed shown on the sign as a number of kilometres per hour, and a sign showing a speed of 30 km/h or less also means that speed bumps and other devices that force slow driving might not be marked with warning signs. The minimum speed is set by a completely different sign - the blue round sign C-14 with a white number. The limit from sign B-43 applies on all streets in the zone until sign B-44 "end of speed limit zone", and not only up to the nearest junction, as with the ordinary B-33. In such a zone you drive at no more than 30 km/h and expect speed bumps, traffic islands and pedestrians in narrow streets.
