Driving test fees 2026 and booking: info-kierowca, WORD

Theory test: 56.98 zł. Practical test: 229.99 zł (category B among others) or 288 zł (B+E, C, D among others), at the Mazovia rates from 1 January 2026. Fees are set regionally, so other regions differ by a few złoty. You book at the WORD office, on info-car.pl or on info-kierowca.pl.

How much the driving test costs in 2026

The rates below apply at the WORD (Wojewódzki Ośrodek Ruchu Drogowego, the regional driving test centre) in the Mazovia region from 1 January 2026, on the basis of resolution no. 179/25 of the Mazovian Regional Assembly of 19 November 2025. Valid as of September 2026.

For the full set for category B you will therefore pay 286.97 zł (PLN), if you pass both parts the first time. Category C or D costs 344.98 zł in total. People who booked by 31 December 2025 pay the old rates.

You pay for each attempt separately. A failed practical test means another 229.99 zł for the next date. You do not retake the theory, because a passed theory test is valid indefinitely.

Who sets the fees and why they differ between regions

The exam fees are set by the regional assembly (sejmik) under art. 56a-56b of the Act on Vehicle Drivers (ustawa o kierujących pojazdami). That is why the price list of the WORD in Warsaw may differ from the one in Kraków or Gdańsk.

The differences are small, though. According to a comparison by Rankomat from August 2026, the theory costs 55-59 zł across the country, and the practical test for category B 220-239 zł. Before booking, check the price list on your WORD's website, because that is the binding one.

How to book the exam: three routes

You have three options. The result is the same: a reserved slot at the chosen centre and a booking confirmation with the date, time and place.

In person at the WORD office

1. Go to the customer service office of your chosen WORD with an identity document and your PKK number (Profil Kandydata na Kierowcę, the driver candidate profile).
2. State the category and choose a date from those available.
3. Pay on the spot by card or BLIK (the Polish mobile payment system), or earlier by bank transfer.
4. Collect your booking confirmation.

Through info-car.pl

The info-car.pl portal is run by PWPW (the Polish Security Printing Works) and has handled online bookings for years. You create an account, enter your PESEL and PKK numbers, choose the centre, category and date, and pay online. According to Prawo.pl, the functions of this service are gradually being wound down and moved to a new portal.

Through info-kierowca.pl

Info-kierowca.pl is the e-Services Portal launched in 2026. Its operation is confirmed by WORD Warsaw, which lists payment during booking in this system among the ways of paying for the exam. It is run by PWPW, and its construction was financed from the National Recovery Plan (Krajowy Plan Odbudowy). Booking requires confirming your identity with electronic identification, for example a trusted profile (profil zaufany, the Polish e-government login). That is deliberate. Previously, third-party apps scraped information on free slots and reserved them for a fee, and identity verification is meant to close the door on such bots.

In the portal you reserve a date at your chosen WORD, pay online and receive an electronic certificate of the date. Eventually a database of driving schools with pass rate statistics is also meant to appear there.

What to prepare before booking

Without a PKK number you cannot book anywhere. You set up the profile at the wydział komunikacji (the transport department of the district office) before the course. How to do it is described in our guide on how to get a PKK step by step.

A checklist:

1. Your PKK and PESEL numbers.
2. The category you are taking, and whether you want to take several at once.
3. The language of the theory test: Polish, English, German or Ukrainian. You choose it when booking.
4. Money for the fee: 56.98 zł for the theory, 229.99 zł or 288 zł for the practical test.
5. Age: you can take the exam at the earliest one month before reaching the required age (art. 50(1) of the Act).
6. Under 18: written consent of a parent or guardian (art. 50(2)(8)).

How to change the date or get the fee back

The rule at WORD Warsaw is simple. If you cannot come, inform the centre in writing no later than 2 days before the exam. The fee then carries over to another date or is refunded to you on application.

A late notification, or absence without notice, means losing the fee. The written form is what counts, so a phone call alone is not enough. If you book through a portal, check whether you can change the date in your account or whether a letter to the WORD is needed.

Taking the test in the driving school's car and other extra costs

The practical test usually takes place in a WORD vehicle. For categories AM, A1, A2, A, B and B+E you can apply to take the test in the vehicle of the school that trained you (art. 53(4a) of the Act). You bear the cost of providing the vehicle, according to the price list of the OSK (ośrodek szkolenia kierowców, the driving school). The exam fee paid to the WORD stays the same.

Other expenses that may come up:

• a sworn translator at the practical test, if you do not speak Polish (at your own expense, § 18 of the regulation on examining);
• further attempts, each paid for separately;
• extra driving lessons before retaking the test, according to the OSK price list.

A sign language interpreter is a different situation. The WORD provides one free of charge (art. 56(7)).

Who does not pay for the practical test

An exemption from the fee for the practical part is available to a person with a disability who has a medical certificate indicating the need to adapt the vehicle to their condition, if the test takes place in such an adapted vehicle (art. 56(4)). The exemption does not cover the theory part. Nor does it apply to every person with a disability certificate, only to the situation with an adapted vehicle.

What to bring to the exam

On the day of the exam, bring a valid identity document: an ID card or a passport. Without it you will not be admitted, even if the fee has been credited. A person under 18 should have the consent of a parent or guardian, if it was not submitted earlier.

If you are taking the practical test in an OSK car, make sure the instructor knows the date and will provide the vehicle. Arrive early, because everyone's identity is checked before the exam.

How many times you can take the exam

The Act does not limit the number of attempts. You can take the theory and the practical test as many times as you need, but you pay for each date anew. After a failed theory test you have the right, on application, to see the questions with the correct answers (art. 52a of the Act), which helps you prepare for the next date.

The cheapest strategy is to pass the first time. Practise the theory with the mock exams on Łatweprawko, which mirror the 32 questions, 25 minutes and WORD scoring. Repeat the practical side with extra lessons if your instructor sees gaps.

A practical tip to finish

Book the theory test when your mock exams come out consistently above 68 points, not when you happen to find a free slot. The 56.98 zł fee is low, but every failed attempt also means weeks of waiting for the next date.
