Question no. 7596 1 pts specialist AM

Which of the following vehicles are you allowed to drive if you hold an AM category driving licence?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

B. A moped.

Explanation

This question is about the vehicles you can drive with a category AM driving licence. You are allowed to ride a moped - answer B.

The Vehicle Drivers Act states that category AM entitles you to drive a moped and a light quadricycle, as well as a combination of such a vehicle with a trailer. A moped is a two- or three-wheeled vehicle with a combustion engine of up to 50 cm3 or an electric motor with a power of up to 4 kW, whose design limits its speed to 45 km/h. A motorcycle (answer A) is not covered by category AM - as a general rule it requires category A1, A2 or A, depending on its parameters. Not every quadricycle (answer C) is covered by category AM - it includes only a light quadricycle, and heavier or faster ones require category B1 or B. You can obtain a category AM driving licence from the age of 14.

Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 point 1-5 and para. 3 point 3 and Art. 8 para. 1 point 1 of the Vehicle Drivers Act (ustawa o kierujących pojazdami); Art. 2 point 42c and 46 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
