How many hours of compensation time-off does a driver have left, if he has used 24 hours of a shortened weekly rest?

The EU Regulation defines a regular weekly rest period as at least 45 hours, and a reduced one as at least 24 hours, with an obligation to compensate. The compensation is the hours missing up to 45: 45 minus 24 gives 21 hours (answer C). Answer A confuses the compensation with the length of the reduced rest itself, and 11 hours (answer B) is the regular daily rest period. 24 hours is the shortest permitted weekly rest, so the compensation here is the largest possible. The driver must take it in one go, as a whole, before the end of the third week following the week in question, together with another rest period of at least 9 hours.
