The EU Regulation on tachographs states that drivers must not use record sheets or driver cards for a period longer than the one for which they are intended. A normal record sheet covers 24 hours - if it stays in the tachograph longer, the recordings from the next day will overlap the previous ones and become unreadable. That is why there is no 10% tolerance (answer A), and using it for any length of time (answer C) is an infringement. The driver replaces the record sheet with a new one every day, writes on it their first name, surname, place and date and the odometer reading, and carries the completed record sheets with them for the required period.
