What is the main role of the low-beam lights in a tractor?

Dipped headlights have a sharp cut-off at the top of the beam: they light the roadway and the right-hand shoulder, but they do not shine into the eyes of oncoming drivers. That is why the Road Traffic Act requires you to use them when driving in normal visibility, and at night to switch from main beam to dipped headlights before an oncoming vehicle. A range of "no more than 10 m" (answer B) would be dangerously short - at 30 km/h, which is the speed limit for a tractor, the stopping distance is clearly longer than 10 m. Lighting the road for at least 100 m (answer C) is the job of main beam, which can dazzle. Keep the headlights clean and correctly adjusted - badly adjusted dipped headlights dazzle despite the cut-off beam, and dirty ones light the road poorly.
