On which section does the speed limit apply to subject to this sign?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
B. To the location of the sign indicating the end of the sign.
Explanation
In the photo, we are driving a tram on tram tracks running next to the roadway. On the right side of the track there is sign BT-1 "speed limit" with the number 10 and a plate "Szyny napawane" (rails repaired by welding), and next to it, closer to the roadway, sign A-21 "tram" and sign F-10 showing the directions of traffic in the lanes for cars. The speed limit from this sign applies up to the place where the cancelling sign stands - answer B.
Sign BT-1 prohibits the driver of a tram travelling on the track next to which it is placed from exceeding the speed shown on the sign. The prohibition applies from the place where the sign stands to the nearest junction (fork) of tracks or to the place where sign BT-2 "end of speed limit" stands. So the cancelling sign is BT-2. A road junction without tracks (answer A) does not end the limit for a tram, and a stop (answer C) does not cancel it either. The plate "Szyny napawane" explains the reason - the repaired section of track requires slow driving.
