What is the required minimum distance between organised columns of motorbikes travelling on a motorway?

The Road Traffic Act states that the distance between moving columns must not be less than 500 m for columns of motor vehicles and 200 m for columns of other vehicles. A motorcycle is a motor vehicle - a power-driven vehicle whose design allows it to travel faster than 25 km/h - so the first number applies to it, on a motorway just as on other roads. Answer A (200 m) applies to columns of vehicles other than motor vehicles, for example bicycles. Answer B mixes up two rules: the Act provides for the "half the speed in metres" rule as the minimum distance between individual vehicles on a motorway and an expressway, not between columns. In a column of motorcycles each rider keeps this individual distance from the one in front anyway - at 120 km/h at least 60 m - and between successive groups, of up to 10 motorcycles, at least half a kilometre is left, so that other vehicles can safely overtake them and return to the right lane.
