Question no. 11096 2 pts basic AM

Can you make a U-turn from the lane you are occupying at the nearest roadway link?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video we are driving in the left lane of one carriageway of a dual carriageway; ahead of us, at the edges, there are signs F-10 and direction signs, and an arrow for straight on and left is painted on our lane; there is a crossover in the green strip between the carriageways. From the lane you are in, you may make a U-turn at the nearest crossover between the carriageways - the answer is YES.

A lane direction arrow allowing a left turn, painted on the far left lane, also means that a U-turn is allowed, unless it is prohibited by sign B-23 or traffic is controlled by directional traffic lights S-3 (with arrows). In the video there is no ban on U-turns and there are no directional traffic lights, so you may make a U-turn from the left lane through the crossover in the green strip. When making a U-turn, you give way to vehicles travelling on the other carriageway, which you are entering, and you do it only when you will not endanger or obstruct others. You switch on the left indicator in good time and slow down.

Legal basis: § 87 para. 1 and 2 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 22 para. 5 and 6 point 4 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
