Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video we are driving in the left lane of a street alongside tram tracks; in the right lane, at the kerb, there is a white delivery van, and further on a car with its hazard warning lights on - we drive past them in our lane. In this situation you are obliged to keep a safe distance from the vehicles you are passing - the answer is YES.

Passing a stationary vehicle or obstacle (omijanie) means driving past a vehicle, road user or obstacle that is not moving. The Road Traffic Act requires you, when passing, to keep a safe distance from the vehicle, road user or obstacle you are passing and, if necessary, to reduce speed. With a van that has stopped, the driver's door may open at any moment, and a pedestrian or a courier with a parcel may step out from behind the vehicle. That is why, when passing, you keep a distance that gives you time to react, and if there is little space next to it, you slow down. When the distance is small, you drive closer to the left edge of your lane.

Legal basis: Art. 2 point 27 and Art. 23 para. 1 point 2 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
