Question no. 10924 3 pts basic AM

In this situation, can you turn right at the intersection without stopping the vehicle?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video we are driving in the right lane, which has a right-turn arrow, towards a junction; above the roadway there are three sets of traffic lights for the individual lanes, and at the right-hand edge there are directional traffic lights showing a green arrow pointing right. In this situation you may turn right at the junction without stopping the vehicle - the answer is YES.

In directional traffic lights S-3 the signals have the shape of arrows, and the green arrow is a full green signal for the direction shown - it allows you to enter without stopping. A green signal in S-3 also means that, when driving in the direction shown, there is no conflict with other road users. This is something completely different from the green arrow S-2 lit next to a red light, which requires stopping. Even so, you turn carefully: you watch whether someone is entering against the signals, and you let through a pedestrian who might step onto the crossing on red.

Legal basis: § 97 para. 1-3 and § 96 para. 3 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
