Will the green signal light up after these signals?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the photo, we are approaching a junction with a pedestrian crossing; there are traffic lights on a post on the right, with sign D-1 "priority road" above them, and a second set of traffic lights hangs above the roadway. The traffic lights are showing red and amber signals at the same time. After these signals, the green signal will come on - the answer is YES.

Red and amber signals shown together by traffic lights S-1 mean that you must not go beyond the traffic lights, and at the same time they announce that the green signal will come on in a moment. This is a signal for the driver to get ready to move off. However, it does not mean permission to enter - only when you see the green light do you move off. Remember that green alone does not release you from caution either: you let through pedestrians and cyclists who have not yet left the crossing, and vehicles that are finishing their passage through the junction. On a moped, move off smoothly, without opening the throttle sharply, especially on a wet roadway.

Legal basis: § 95 para. 1 point 4 and para. 2 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
