Will a red signal light up after these signals?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the photo, we are approaching a junction with a pedestrian crossing; there are traffic lights on a post on the right, with sign D-1 "priority road" above them, and a second set of traffic lights hangs above the roadway. The traffic lights are showing red and amber signals at the same time. After these signals, the red signal will not come on - the answer is NO.

The order of signals in traffic lights S-1 is fixed: green, amber, red, red with amber, and green again. Red and amber signals shown together mean that you must not go beyond the traffic lights, and also that the green signal will come on in a moment. Do not confuse them with amber alone, which comes on after green and announces red. Knowing this order allows you to get ready to move off calmly - select a gear, look in the mirrors - and not to move off too early. Red with amber still means that you must not go, so you stay where you are until green comes on.

Legal basis: § 95 para. 1 point 2 and 4 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
