Question no. 10392 1 pts basic B

You are driving a vehicle with an LPG installation. Does the visible sign on the right tell you to turn right in 150 metres?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the video you are driving on a dual carriageway in town; on the right there is a white rectangular sign with the symbol of a vehicle carrying dangerous goods, a blue right-turn arrow and a plate "150 m" - C-17. When driving a vehicle with an LPG installation, you do not have to turn right in 150 m. The answer is: no.

The Regulation on road signs and signals states that sign C-17 "mandatory direction for vehicles carrying dangerous goods" indicates the mandatory direction at the junction, shown by signs C-2, C-4, C-5, C-6, C-7 or C-8, for vehicles carrying dangerous goods in quantities that require the vehicle to be marked with orange warning plates. So it is about tankers and lorries carrying fuels, gases or chemicals as a load - not about a car that has gas in its tank as its own fuel. An LPG installation in a passenger car does not make it a vehicle carrying dangerous goods; such a car has no orange plates, and sign C-17 does not apply to it, just as prohibition B-13a does not. The "150 m" plate says that the order applies at the junction 150 m ahead.

Legal basis: § 41 and § 19 para. 2 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
