Question no. 10178 1 pts basic B

When driving a passenger car, are you allowed to turn right after this sign?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video, you are driving along a street in a town and approaching a junction; on the right there is a blue board with a diagram of the junction, on which the symbol of sign B-5 with the number 5 t is placed on the branch to the right, and under it a plate "Nie dotyczy..." (does not apply to...). When driving a passenger car, you are allowed to turn right beyond this sign. The answer is: yes.

The Regulation on road signs and signals states that sign F-6 "advance sign placed before a junction" gives advance warning, by means of the appropriate sign shown on it, of a danger or prohibition beyond the junction on the road indicated. The symbol on the branch to the right is sign B-5 "no entry for lorries" with a maximum permissible mass over 5 t - this prohibition applies to lorries above the given mass, road tractors, special vehicles, agricultural tractors and slow-moving vehicles. It does not cover a passenger car, so you can turn right without any problem; the board is there to help lorry drivers, who can use it to choose another route in good time instead of reversing away from the sign. When turning right, you move close to the right-hand edge of the roadway, switch on your indicator and give way to pedestrians crossing the roadway you are entering.

Legal basis: § 70 para. 2 and § 18 para. 4 and 5 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 22 para. 2 point 1 and Art. 26 para. 2 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
