Does the speed limit defined by this sign apply to the tram driver exclusively to the nearest junction or rail intersection, provided the signs do not instruct otherwise?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the photo we are driving a tram on tram tracks next to the roadway. Next to the track there is sign A-14 "roadworks", and under it sign BT-1 with the number 10, that is, a tram speed limit of 10 km/h. This limit applies to the tram driver until the nearest junction or crossing of tracks, unless other signs say otherwise - the answer is YES.

Sign BT-1 prohibits the tram driver from exceeding the speed shown. The ban applies from the place where the sign is placed until the nearest junction (fork) of the tracks or until sign BT-2 "end of speed limit". Here the limit is because of works near the track. It applies even when no workers can be seen working on the track.

Legal basis: § 81 para. 1-2 and § 82 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
