Is the exam in English the same as in Polish?
Yes. Questions in every language are drawn from the same official catalogue of the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure (last updated: in July 2026 (checked against gov.pl on 01.11.2026)). The translation changes neither the meaning of a question nor how many points it is worth.
- •The same photos and videos, and the same set of 32 questions: 20 basic and 12 specialist.
- •The same scoring: questions are worth 3, 2 or 1 point, and you pass from 68 out of 74.
- •The same timing: 20 s to read and 15 s to answer in the basic part, 50 s in the specialist part.
The practical exam is held in Polish
The practical part is always in Polish. The examiner gives instructions and discusses the result in Polish, whatever language you took the theory in. If your Polish is not good enough for the exam to be conducted, you may bring a sworn interpreter (§ 18 of the examination regulation), but you find and pay for them yourself. WORD does not arrange one.
In practice a dozen or so fixed commands are enough. Your instructor uses exactly the same wording during the course as the examiner will on the day.
Tasks on the practical exam →How to choose your exam language when you book
You choose the language of the theory part when you book, together with the category, the centre and the date. It cannot be changed in the exam room.
- 1.Get a PKK at the transport department (wydzial komunikacji) for your place of residence; without a PKK number you cannot book the exam.
- 2.Book at a WORD office, on info-car.pl or through the info-kierowca.pl portal, and select the question language along with the date.
- 3.Check the confirmation: category, date and language must all match. The centre sets a date falling within 30 days of booking.
What you need before you can sit the exam in Poland
The conditions are the same for Polish citizens and for foreigners. The exam language changes nothing here.

- •From 3 September 2026, a declaration of that residence under criminal liability, no later than the exam day or the day you collect the document.
- •A medical certificate from a doctor authorised to examine drivers; up to 200 zl.
- •A PKK (Profil Kandydata na Kierowce, the candidate driver profile), issued free of charge by the transport department.
- •The required age: you may sit the exam at the earliest one month before you reach it.
