Question no. 9424 3 pts basic B

In the presented situation, do you have to exercise special caution when entering a paved road from a dirt road?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video you are driving along an unpaved dirt road between houses and fences in a town and approaching the point where it comes out onto a road with an asphalt surface. When entering a paved road from a dirt road, you must exercise particular caution. The answer is: yes.

The Road Traffic Act states that joining traffic (włączanie się do ruchu) takes place, among other situations, when entering a road with a paved surface from a road with a dirt surface, and a driver who is joining traffic is obliged to exercise particular caution and to give way to another vehicle or road user. It does not matter here whether there is a sign at the exit - the type of surface alone means that this is not an ordinary uncontrolled junction of equal roads and the right-hand rule does not apply: you give way to everyone, including vehicles coming from the left, pedestrians on the pavement and cyclists on a cycle path if you cross it. Before pulling out, you stop or slow down a lot at a point from which you can see the road in both directions, you look left, right and left again, and you move off only when you will not force anyone to brake. You move off smoothly, without spinning the wheels on the loose ground.
