Which the control lights visible in the illustration informs you that the direction indicators are enabled?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

A. A.

Explanation

The illustration shows three green warning lights: A - two arrows, left and right, B - a sidelight symbol, C - a headlamp with rays pointing downwards, that is, dipped headlights. Light A shows that the indicators are on - answer A.

The Regulation on the technical conditions of vehicles requires a vehicle to have a control signal showing that the indicators are working - this may be a flashing green light signal, a sound signal, or both at the same time. That is why in a car the green arrow flashes in time with the indicator, usually with a typical clicking sound; the left arrow corresponds to the left indicator, the right arrow to the right one, and with hazard warning lights both flash, together with a red warning light with a triangle. The Regulation also provides that when one of the indicators stops working, the control signal should go out, stay lit or flash at a clearly changed frequency - that is why fast flashing of the arrow means a blown bulb. The Road Traffic Act requires you to signal your intention to change direction or lane in good time and clearly, and to stop signalling right after the manoeuvre - the flashing light reminds you that your indicator is still on.

Legal basis: Annex No. 6 to the Regulation on the technical conditions of vehicles and the scope of their necessary equipment; Art. 22 para. 5 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
