Are entering a road with priority if you turn right at the intersection?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the photo you are approaching a junction in the suburbs; on the right there is sign A-7 "give way" with plate T-6c, on which the thick line of the priority road runs diagonally through the junction, and the thin line is your road; cars are travelling along the intersecting road. When turning right, you will enter the priority road. The answer is: yes.

The Regulation on road signs and signals states that sign A-7 warns of a junction with a priority road, and plate T-6c placed under it shows the actual course of the priority road through the junction: the thick line is the main road, the thin lines are minor roads. You are approaching along the thin line, so you are on a minor road, and the road you are turning into is the thick line - the priority road. Before turning you give way to all vehicles on it, including those from the left approaching the junction, because after the turn you would pull out just in front of them. You stop if necessary, check both sides, signal the turn and join the traffic on the main road when there is a big enough gap; after the turn it is you who has right of way at the next junctions marked with D-1.

Legal basis: § 5 para. 5 and 7 and § 1 para. 2 point 2 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 25 para. 1 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
