Show the correct answer

Correct answer

A. a gust of wind from the left side of the road.

Explanation

In the photo a motorcyclist is riding on a dual carriageway between acoustic screens placed on both sides. When you ride out from behind an acoustic screen that ends on the left side, you expect a gust of wind from the left side of the road - answer A.

The Road Traffic Act requires you to ride at a speed and in a way that ensures control of the vehicle, taking into account the weather conditions. An acoustic screen shields the road from crosswind: while you are riding behind it, the air is calm, and at the point where it ends, the wind hits the motorcycle suddenly and with full force - from exactly the side where the screen stood. Since the screen ends on the left, the gust will come from the left and push you to the right. The same effect happens at the end of a forest, when riding onto a bridge or a flyover (viaduct), and when passing a lorry. You prepare in advance: you hold the handlebars firmly, grip the tank lightly with your knees, leave spare space on the right side of the lane and do not overtake at this point. Answer B indicates the wrong side, and answer C mixes both.

Legal basis: Art. 19 para. 1 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
