Correct answer
C. high-beam lights.
Explanation
In the photo, a blue warning light with the symbol of a headlight with straight, horizontal rays is lit on the instrument panel. The blue light tells you that main beam is switched on - answer C. The warning light for sidelights (A) and for dipped headlights (B) is green, and for dipped headlights the rays on the symbol point diagonally downwards.
The Regulation on the technical conditions of vehicles requires a vehicle to have a main beam warning light (tell-tale) - a steady (not flashing) blue light; this light has the same colour in all cars, so you will recognise it in any car. The blue light is a signal that you are using the strongest light, which dazzles other drivers, so when you see it in town, on a lit road or when a vehicle is coming from the opposite direction, you switch to dipped headlights immediately. It is also worth glancing at this warning light after accidentally jerking the lever by the steering wheel - this is the most common cause of switching on main beam without meaning to.
