Question no. 7454 2 pts specialist B

You must not haul another vehicle with your passenger car:

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

A. on a motorway.

Explanation

You are not allowed to tow another vehicle with a passenger car on a motorway - answer A. On an expressway (B) and in a residential area (C), towing is allowed if the general conditions are met.

The Road Traffic Act prohibits towing on a motorway, except towing by vehicles designed for towing, to the nearest exit or service area. A passenger car towing another vehicle drives at most at 60 km/h, and on a motorway traffic moves at up to 140 km/h - such a slow combination on a tow rope would be deadly dangerous. If your car breaks down on a motorway, you call roadside assistance, which will take it to the nearest exit on a tow truck or with a special vehicle. Away from the motorway, you tow at up to 30 km/h in a built-up area and 60 km/h outside it, with dipped headlights on and a warning triangle on the towed vehicle.

Legal basis: Art. 31 para. 2 point 5 and para. 1 point 1 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
