At this intersection, can you make a U-turn from the left lane?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
YES
Explanation
In the photo you are approaching a roundabout with signs C-12 and A-7; on the left lane there is a painted arrow P-8 for going left and straight on, and on the right lane - to the right. At this junction you may make a U-turn from the left lane, because a left arrow on the far left lane also allows a U-turn, and there is no sign B-23 or traffic lights S-3 here. The answer is: yes.
The Regulation on road signs and signals states that a lane direction arrow allowing a left turn, placed on the far left lane, also means permission to make a U-turn, unless this is prohibited by sign B-23 or traffic is controlled by directional traffic lights S-3. At a roundabout, a U-turn simply means going all the way around the island and leaving by the same road you came in on. When entering, you give way to vehicles going around the roundabout, you keep to the inner lane, and before leaving you switch on your right indicator and give way to vehicles in the outer lane.
