Is the prohibition expressed by this sign valid from the point of its location to the nearest crossroads?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the photo, we are driving a tram on tracks on a bridge, and on the right-hand side of the track there is the sign BT-1 "speed limit" with the number 20. The ban expressed by this sign does not apply up to the nearest road junction - the answer is NO.

The sign BT-1 prohibits the driver of a tram travelling on the track next to which it is placed from exceeding the speed shown on the sign. The ban applies from the place where the sign is located to the nearest track junction (fork) or to the sign BT-2 "end of speed limit". So what counts is a junction of tracks, not of roads. A street junction where the track does not cross another track and does not fork does not end this limit.

Legal basis: § 81 para. 1-2 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
