If you drive a tractor, in which of the following cases can you enter the road once you go past this sign?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
A. When I perform road works on such road.
Explanation
In the photo, we are driving on a motorway - signs D-9 "motorway" can be seen on both sides of the roadway, and a lorry is driving in front of us. You can enter this road with an agricultural tractor when you are doing repair work on it - answer A.
A motorway is intended only for motor vehicles that can reach at least 40 km/h on a level road, and an agricultural tractor, by definition, is not a motor vehicle. The exception applies to vehicles doing maintenance, repair or modernisation work on the road: they may use a motorway and an expressway, even if they are not motor vehicles or cannot reach 40 km/h. Such a vehicle should also show yellow flashing lights. Taking children to school (answer B) and getting to a field (answer C) are not such work - a slow tractor among cars travelling at 120-140 km/h would create a deadly danger. You drive to the field on local roads, even if the route is longer.
