The Road Traffic Act requires the driver to exercise particular caution when driving in reduced visibility caused by fog, precipitation or other causes; in addition, the driver of a power-driven vehicle then switches on dipped headlights or front fog lights, and outside a built-up area in fog gives short horn signals when overtaking or going around. In fog, you choose your speed so that you can stop within the visible stretch of road, and you do not assume that there is nothing behind the white wall.
