Are you always obliged to exercise special caution, while driving?
Show the correct answer
Correct answer
NO
Explanation
The driver of a vehicle is obliged to exercise caution at all times - this is the basic rule of traffic. Particular caution is a higher level of attention, which the Road Traffic Act requires only in specific situations: when changing direction or lanes, at a pedestrian crossing, at a level crossing, when reversing, when overtaking, when joining traffic (włączanie się do ruchu) or beyond a warning sign. So there is no obligation to exercise particular caution all the time.
The Road Traffic Act says that a road user is obliged to exercise caution or - when the Act requires it - particular caution. The definition in the Act describes it as caution that consists of increased attention and adapting your behaviour to the conditions and situations changing on the road, to a degree that allows you to react quickly enough. On an empty forest road like the one in the photo, ordinary caution applies to you until a sign or the situation requires more.
