How should the tram driver behave before leaving the cabin onto the road, beyond the tram stop, to manually set the rail switch?

This question is about the tram driver getting out of the cab onto the roadway, outside a stop, to set the points by hand. The tram driver should park the tram and make sure that it is safe to leave the cab - the answer is B.

Parking the tram means that it is at a standstill and secured against being started by an unauthorised person - the Road Traffic Act requires this while parked. Then the tram driver checks whether cars, cyclists or other trams are passing next to the tram, and only then steps out onto the roadway. Switching off the converter alone (answer A) does not secure the tram, and switching off all the lights (answer C) would even be dangerous, because a stationary tram should be clearly visible. At the points, the tram driver stands facing the tram.
