Question no. 4064 3 pts basic PT

When you see a pedestrian behaving in such a manner, should you apply the principle of limited trust?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video, we are driving a tram along a narrow street, where a car with a lifting platform is parked; pedestrians are walking around it and next to the tracks, and some step onto the roadway right in front of the tram. Towards pedestrians behaving in the way shown, you should apply the principle of limited trust - the answer is YES.

The Road Traffic Act allows you to assume that other road users obey the rules, unless the circumstances suggest that they may behave differently. Pedestrians crossing the roadway where it is not allowed, walking along the tracks or busy working at a car with a lifting platform are exactly such a circumstance. At any moment, they may step onto the tracks in front of the tram. So you reduce speed, if necessary give a warning signal with the bell, and are ready to stop the tram.

Legal basis: Art. 4 and Art. 3 para. 1 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
