Question no. 4036 3 pts basic PT

Do you have an obligation to stop the tram on the line marked by triangles, if another vehicle was to approach the transverse road?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video, we are driving a tram towards a junction with a street; before it, next to the track, there is sign A-7 "give way", and a line made of triangles is painted on the tracks; a dark red car passes in front of the tram along the intersecting road from the left. You are obliged to stop the tram at the line marked by triangles if another vehicle were approaching along the intersecting road - the answer is YES.

The give-way line made of triangles shows the place where the vehicle stops in order to give way as required by sign A-7. Sign A-7 also applies to a tram, so when a vehicle to which you must give way is approaching along the intersecting road, you stop the tram before this line and wait until it has passed. Stopping before the line means that the tram does not enter the path of other vehicles. Only when you will not force anyone to brake do you move off.
