Question no. 2568 1 pts basic PT

After performing a turn manoeuvre, are you obliged to immediately turn off the indicator?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video we are driving a tram through a large junction in the city centre and turning right; cars are driving through the junction, and the tram traffic lights allow us to go. After completing the turn, you are obliged to switch off the indicator immediately - the answer is YES.

The Road Traffic Act requires you to stop signalling the intention to change direction immediately after completing the manoeuvre. An indicator left on misleads other road users: pedestrians and drivers may think that the tram is about to turn again and adjust their behaviour to this, for example wait before stepping onto the crossing or stop before the tracks without need. So after going through the curve, you check that the indicator has been switched off.

Legal basis: Art. 22 para. 5 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
