Question no. 2526 3 pts basic PT

Are you joining the traffic in this situation?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the video a tram is standing before a junction at the tram traffic lights, which first show a horizontal bar and then a vertical bar; after the signal changes, the tram moves off across the junction. In this situation you are not joining traffic - the answer is NO.

Joining traffic (włączanie się do ruchu) takes place when you start driving after parking or after stopping that did not result from traffic conditions or traffic rules, and for a rail vehicle - when it drives onto the road from a depot or onto the roadway from a turning loop. Stopping at the traffic lights results from the rules, so moving off after the signal changes is continuing your journey, not joining traffic. When moving off, you still watch the junction, because a signal allowing entry does not let you enter if you would make it difficult for pedestrians to leave the roadway or would not manage to leave the junction.

Legal basis: Art. 17 para. 1 and Art. 2 point 29 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym); § 104 para. 1 and 2 of the Regulation on road signs and signals
