Will you be able in this situation to turn left properly from the right lane you are taking?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

There are two lanes on the roadway in your direction. In the left lane there is a lane direction arrow for turning left, and in the right lane an arrow for going straight on. So from the right lane you may only go straight on - a left turn from this lane would be driving against the arrow, not a properly performed manoeuvre.

Lane direction arrows mean that from the lane where they are painted you may drive only in the direction shown by the arrow. In addition, the Road Traffic Act requires you to move towards the centre of the roadway before a left turn, which means taking the left lane. If you want to turn left, you must change to the left lane in good time, before the arrows - with your indicator on and after giving way to the vehicles in that lane.

Legal basis: § 87 para. 1 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 22 para. 2 point 2 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
