Are you allowed to turn right from the traffic lane you are occupying at this intersection?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the video you are driving in the middle lane towards a junction with traffic lights in a city; F-11 signs hang above the lanes: above the left one a left arrow, above the middle one an arrow straight ahead, above the right one arrows straight ahead and right, and a straight-ahead arrow is painted in your lane. You are not allowed to turn right from the lane you are in. The answer is: no.

The Regulation on road signs and signals provides that sign F-11 "lane direction", placed above a lane, shows the permitted directions from the lane above which it is placed, and lane direction arrow P-8a on the roadway means that from this lane you may only go straight ahead. If you turned right from the middle lane, you would cut across the path of vehicles in the right lane, which have the right to turn. If you want to go right, you change to the right lane before the junction, and if you do not manage it in time - you go straight on and make a U-turn further on.

Legal basis: § 72 para. 2 and § 87 para. 1 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 22 para. 2 point 1 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
