Is it permissible for someone using a personal transport device to cross along at a pedestrian crossing?

The question is about a rider of a personal transport device (UTO) - for example an electric skateboard or an electric unicycle. They cannot ride along a pedestrian crossing. The answer is: no.

The Road Traffic Act prohibits the driver of a vehicle from riding along a footway (droga dla pieszych) or a pedestrian crossing, subject to the rules on bicycles, electric scooters and personal transport devices. A personal transport device is an electrically powered vehicle without a seat or pedals, and its rider must use a cycle path or a shared footway and cycle path, and exceptionally - when there are none - a footway, riding at a speed close to that of a pedestrian and giving way to pedestrians; riding on the roadway is prohibited for them, except on a cycle crossing. A pedestrian crossing is part of the roadway, and the exception for footways does not cover it: you may ride across the roadway only on a cycle crossing, and when there is none, you get off the device and walk it across the crossing - then you are a pedestrian yourself. Riding along the stripes, that is, on the roadway in the direction of traffic, is all the more clearly riding on the roadway, which a UTO rider is not allowed to do.
