In this scenario, are you required to stop and allow pedestrians crossing the road on the left side to pass?

In the video, you are approaching a junction in town with a traffic island on which there is sign C-9; your route leads to the right, around the island, across a red cycle crossing. On the left, on the other side of the island, pedestrians are stepping onto a pedestrian crossing with D-6 signs with plate T-27 on a yellow background. You are not obliged to stop and let them cross. The answer is: no.

The Road Traffic Act states that when approaching a pedestrian crossing, the driver of a vehicle must exercise particular caution, reduce speed and give way to a pedestrian on that crossing or entering it. The pedestrians are stepping onto the crossing on the left, outside your path, and the Act adds that where vehicle traffic is separated by a traffic island, the crossing on each part of the roadway is considered a separate crossing - so the island with sign C-9 separates their crossing from your road. There is no one you have to give way to, so you do not have to stop. However, you reduce speed and watch the cycle crossing and whether the pedestrians are heading towards your path; T-27 reminds you that there may be children here.
