While driving a truck, in what circumstances should you make sure that the transported cargo is properly secured?

In the photo a green car transporter lorry is carrying passenger cars on two levels. After sudden braking, you are obliged to make sure that the load is still properly secured - the answer is B.

The Road Traffic Act requires the load to be secured against moving, and the fastening devices - against loosening and falling off while driving. Sudden braking is the moment when the greatest force acts on the load: straps may stretch, hooks may come loose, and cars on the transporter may shift on their wedges. That is why after such braking you stop in a safe place and check the fastenings. The law does not state directly when to check the load - it requires it to be secured throughout the whole journey. A fixed count of 100 km (answer A) does not come from this requirement, and checking during breaks (answer C) is good practice, but after sudden braking you do not wait until the next break. You also check the fastenings before you set off.
