Question no. 11247 1 pts basic AM

Does this sign indicate that you are entering a built-up area?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video we are riding a moped along a road with a white rectangular sign D-42 with a black silhouette of buildings; further on you can see warning sign A-12a about the roadway narrowing. This sign informs you that you are entering a built-up area - the answer is YES.

Sign D-42 "built-up area" marks the entrance to a built-up area, and sign D-43 - the exit from it. From this point, the rules for a built-up area apply: the speed limit for vehicles is 50 km/h, you may use the horn only in case of immediate danger, and a driver approaching a marked bus stop must reduce speed and, if necessary, stop when a bus signals with its indicator that it is joining traffic. A moped cannot go faster than 45 km/h anyway, but in a built-up area it is worth slowing down even more - there are more pedestrians and more exits from properties.

Legal basis: § 58 para. 3 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 20 para. 1, Art. 29 para. 2 point 2 and Art. 18 para. 1 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
