The visible line separating traffic lanes is a line that can be crossed by drivers travelling in the opposite direction.

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the photo you can see a road outside a built-up area where the lanes are separated by P-3, a line that may be crossed from one side only: on our side there is a broken line, and on the side of the lane for the opposite direction - a solid line. This line may not be crossed by drivers travelling in the opposite direction - the answer is NO.

Marking P-3 "line crossable from one side" means that you must not cross this line from the solid-line side or drive onto it. The exception is returning after overtaking to the lane next to the broken line that you were in before overtaking. Oncoming drivers have the solid line on their side, so they must not cross it, for example to overtake. We have the broken line, so we may cross it when overtaking, if the other conditions allow it. The rule is simple: the line closer to you decides.
