Question no. 11112 2 pts basic AM

Are you obliged to enter the right traffic lane after changing direction to the left?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the video we turn left at a junction with traffic lights and enter a roadway that has two lanes in our direction. After turning left, you are not obliged to take the right lane - the answer is NO.

The rules require you to move closer to the centre of the roadway before turning left, but they do not say which lane you must take after turning onto a roadway with several lanes in one direction. You may enter the lane you need for the rest of your journey - the left one if you are about to turn left again, the right one if you will soon turn right. You only have to stay within one lane and not obstruct others. When turning, do not cut across lanes in an arc and do not cut in front of vehicles turning next to you.

Legal basis: Art. 16 para. 4 and Art. 22 para. 1 and 2 point 2 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
