Question no. 11076 2 pts basic AM

Are you permitted to make a U-turn from the occupied lane at the visible intersection?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the video we are driving in a left-turn lane towards a junction with traffic lights; a left arrow is painted on the lane, and at the entry to the junction, on both sides, there are signs B-23 "no U-turns". From the lane you are in, you are not allowed to make a U-turn at this junction - the answer is NO.

A left-turn arrow on the far left lane, as a rule, also means that a U-turn is allowed. However, the rules provide for two exceptions: a U-turn is not allowed when it is prohibited by sign B-23 or when traffic is controlled by directional traffic lights S-3 (with arrows). Here there are B-23 signs, so from this lane you may only turn left. If you need to go in the opposite direction, you look further on for a place where a U-turn is allowed and safe. Always look at the signs at the junction, not only at the arrows on the roadway.

Legal basis: § 87 para. 1 and 2 and § 22 para. 5 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 22 para. 6 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
