The question is about the validity of the receipt that a police officer issues after retaining a driving licence for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h in a built-up area. The receipt entitles you to drive for 24 hours - answer B.

The Road Traffic Act states that a receipt for the retention of a driving licence because of exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h in a built-up area, or because of carrying more people than the number of seats, entitles you to drive a vehicle for 24 hours from the moment of retention. These 24 hours are meant to let you get home or park the car, not to continue driving normally; after that time the driving licence is retained for 3 months by a decision of the starost (head of the district authority), and for driving a vehicle the law provides for the revocation of driving entitlement. Answers A and C give values that are not in the Act. A different period - 7 days - applies to receipts issued for other reasons, for example when the driving licence has expired or there is a suspicion of a crime for which a court may impose a driving ban. It is worth distinguishing these two situations: for speed and excess passengers - 24 hours, for documents and suspicion of a crime - a week.
