Question no. 10918 3 pts basic AM

In this situation, can you drive straight ahead through the intersection?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the video we approach a junction in the right lane, which has a right-turn arrow; the traffic lights show a red signal, and next to it a green arrow pointing right; signs A-7 and D-6 stand next to the traffic lights. In this situation you must not go straight on through the junction - the answer is NO.

A red signal means that you must not drive past the traffic lights. The green arrow lit next to it in an additional section of traffic lights S-2 allows only a turn in the direction it shows - here to the right - and only after stopping before the traffic lights. The arrow does not apply to going straight on, so if you are going straight on, you must wait for the green signal. Besides, you are in a lane with a right-turn arrow, and from a lane marked with such an arrow you may only go in the direction it shows, regardless of the signal.
