Show the correct answer
Correct answer
B. Reduced visibility of the road druring rain.
Explanation
The photo shows a car's windscreen with the wipers working while driving on a snowy winter road; the windscreen is splashed. The result of using worn wiper blades is reduced visibility of the road in the rain - answer B. The condition of the blades does not affect the battery (A) or the consumption of washer fluid (C).
The Regulation on the technical conditions of vehicles requires a motor vehicle to have power-operated windscreen wipers in a number that ensures an adequate field of view for the driver, and a device for washing the windscreen, and the windscreen must give full and clear visibility; the Road Traffic Act requires the vehicle to give the driver a sufficient field of view. Over time, the rubber of the blade hardens, cracks and loses its flexibility - instead of clearing water, it smears it into streaks, leaves strips it does not wipe, and squeaks on the glass. In the rain, and especially at night in the light of oncoming headlights, such a windscreen turns into a milky sheet, and you cannot see a pedestrian or a sign. Blades are usually replaced once a year, preferably before winter, and in winter, before setting off, you free them from a frozen windscreen by hand instead of switching on the wiper motor.
