Which braking method do you apply in the event of an ABS failure on a slippery surface?

The photo shows a city street in winter: a wet roadway, a pedestrian crossing marked with sign D-6, which people are walking across, and a bus and cars in front of it. If ABS fails on a slippery surface, you will use pulse braking - answer A. Pressing the pedal all the way down (B) would lock the wheels, and the handbrake (C) locks the rear wheels and can make the car spin.

Pulse braking means that you do yourself what ABS normally does: you press the brake hard, and when you feel that the wheels are starting to lock - the car stops responding to the steering wheel and slides - you release the pressure for a moment, then brake again, repeating this quickly, several times a second. The wheels roll and brake in turn, so you keep control of the steering. When ABS is working, this technique is not used - then you brake hard and all the way. The Road Traffic Act requires you to brake in a way that does not cause danger and to adjust your speed to the condition of the road surface, so on a wet surface and with faulty ABS you drive slowly enough to stop before the pedestrian crossing without sudden braking.
