Question no. 9200 2 pts basic B

You intend to drive straight on at the nearest intersection in the presented situation. Are you taking the proper traffic lane?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

YES

Explanation

In the video you are approaching a roundabout in a town - before it there are signs A-7 "give way" and C-12 "roundabout"; the roadway has two lanes in your direction: in the left one, in which you are driving, there is a painted arrow for straight on and left, in the right one - for straight on and right. As you intend to go straight on, you are in the correct lane. The answer is: yes.

The Regulation on road signs and signals states that lane direction arrows mean that from the lane in which they are placed you may only drive in the direction shown by the arrow, and combined arrow symbols mean that you are allowed to drive in the directions shown by those arrows. The straight-on arrow is in both lanes, so you may go straight on through the roundabout from both the left and the right lane; the left lane also allows you to turn left, the right lane - to turn right. At a roundabout with signs A-7 and C-12 you give way to vehicles that are already travelling around it, and after entering it you keep to your lane until the straight-on exit; you do not have to change lanes on the roundabout, and before the exit you switch on your right indicator.

Legal basis: § 87 para. 1 and § 36 para. 2 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 22 para. 5 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
