Question no. 9133 2 pts basic B

In the situation presented, does the visible sign warn you of two dangerous bends, the first of which is to the direction indicated on the sign, and the second of which may be to the left or to the right?

Show the correct answer

Correct answer

NO

Explanation

In the video you are driving on a road outside a town, along fields and an embankment; on the right there is a yellow triangle with an arrow bending to the right - sign A-1 "dangerous bend to the right". The visible sign does not warn you of two dangerous bends, the first of which is in the direction shown on the sign and the second of which may be to the left or to the right - that is the description of signs A-3 and A-4. The answer is: no.

The Regulation on road signs and signals states that signs A-1 "dangerous bend to the right" and A-2 "dangerous bend to the left" warn of a dangerous bend in the direction shown on the sign, while A-3 and A-4 warn of dangerous bends, the first of which is in the direction shown on the sign; where there are more bends, plate T-4 is placed under A-3 or A-4, and plate T-5 shows the beginning of a winding road. The difference is in the symbol: a single bend is one bent arrow, a series of bends - an arrow in the shape of the letter S. Sign A-1 requires you to exercise particular caution: you slow down before the bend, you do not brake sharply in the bend and you do not overtake - the Road Traffic Act prohibits overtaking a power-driven vehicle on a bend marked with warning signs.

Legal basis: § 4 para. 1-3 and § 3 para. 1 of the Regulation on road signs and signals; Art. 24 para. 7 point 2 of the Road Traffic Act (Prawo o ruchu drogowym)
